I know a lot of you checked out after a few episodes of season one of Fargo—and maybe for good reason? It was kind of plodding there for awhile. But I hung with it all the way through, and I really liked what the creators eventually did with it... which is why I'm telling you to give season two of Fargo a chance! It debuts tonight on FX at 10 pm, and has an extremely kickass cast including Kirsten Dunst, Ted Danson, Patrick Wilson, Nick Offerman and more! Vanity Fair has a good piece on why Fargo is so great... and different from competitors like True Detective, and maybe even Serial:
Like many of the other shows in the crowded “peak TV” field, Fargo is about blood and mayhem, and pursues big, bold ideas about the dark heart of America. But unlike any of its competition, Fargo also pursues a fundamental decency in people; in a landscape flooded with antiheroes and guilty-pleasure soap operas, a show about good people and bona-fide heroes is rare.
