I feel so out of place at them. Maybe it's all the parents with kids. The parents are my age or close but they certainly don't feel like my peer group. The children are noisy and annoying, running around, cutting me off. The parents watch them and say nothing. One might apologize. What's with the people selling things like a gallon of honey, tamales, and the eco-roof booths, etc? It's a farmers market..I want affordable, locally sourced, organic fruit and vegetables, and in personal quantities, not a lifetime. Farmers markets are like little microcosms of Portland minus the rough and tumble side. Maybe I'm the outsider, the vagrant, drunk intruding on the proper peoples little safe haven. Should I be ashamed of myself? Should I stick with safeway?
