Here's the latest installment of Unpeeled, Banana Stand's monthly video series that captures local musicians performing in a stripped-down setting. For July we've got a video of Genders' Maggie Morris playing "Need You Around" solo as Sunbathe. Morris sits alone with her acoustic guitar singing bittersweet nothings like "Just because I want you now doesn't make me weak somehow." It's a tense folk-pop song that seems torn between independent life as "a rock, an island" and love that's irresistibly magnetic. Catch Morris live as Sunbathe when she opens for Oh Pep!
