Donald Trump went with good-old fear mongering in his super long nomination acceptance speech, essentially saying this country is currently a piece of trash only he can spiff up. The weirdest part: Many of the facts Trump presented to bolster his case were true—or at least sort of true—according to an analysis the NYT did. That is literally unbelievable.

So now we move on to the Democratic shenanigans, and the rumors swirling around Hillary Clinton's next move aren't likely to enthuse the Bernie Sanders' supporters looking for a way to love her. Word on the street is she'll tap Virginia Senator Tim Kaine to be her veep in an email today. *Yawn.*

Oh boy. As a sweep of the Springwater Corridor's many homeless reisdents looms, activist and formal mayoral candidate Jessie Sponberg is promising to put people up near Reed College. That's not sitting well with Eastmoreland residents.

Here's an interesting take on the Springwater situation from an OPB reporter who lives nearby.

And here's an indispensable piece on the issue from Street Roots Executive Director Israel Bayer.

Sorry, Mt. Hood Community College, there's no getting rid of a board member who gleefully posted a meme of President Obama in a noose. He's still shaping minds!

Oregon's former top federal prosecutor says the investigation into her affair with a subordinate painted her inaccurately. Amanda Marshall is now a private attorney in McMinnville after resigning last year.

Props to the National Basketball Association, for pulling its All-Star Game from North Carolina, which continues to allow a bigoted law on its books.

Rainnnnnn.
