The new fall season of TV shows is kicking into high gear tonight (and all this week), so here are the shows you might not (or might!) want to miss:
8:00 CBS THE BIG BANG THEORY
Season premiere! After Leonard confesses to kissing another girl, Penny must decide if she wants to go through with the wedding, and... WHY DO YOU PEOPLE LIKE THIS SHOW SO MUCH?? I DON'T GET IT!!
8:00 FOX GOTHAM: RISE OF THE VILLAINS
Season premiere! In a naked attempt to tell viewers, "Yes, we know that you're only interested in the villains—and Ben McKenzie is supes boring", Gotham is now subtitled "Rise of the Villains." Good luck with that strategy!
8:00 NBC THE VOICE
Season premiere! The singing competition returns with blind auditions, and the dead eyes of Blake Shelton who will desperately try (and fail) to hide the pain caused by his acrimonious divorce. Love it!
8:30 CBS LIFE IN PIECES
Debut! James Brolin, Dianne Wiest, Colin Hanks, Betsy Brandt, and more recognizable faces star in this single-camera comedy about "one big happy family and their sometimes awkward, often hilarious and ultimately beautiful milestone moments as told by its various members." I feel like I should print the suicide hotline number after cutting and pasting that sentence.
9:00 FOX MINORITY REPORT
Debut! This show is based on the Steven Spielberg/Tom Cruise flick in which cops from the future busts criminals before they can commit their crimes! Aha! But what if murdering people is completely legal in the future? Shouldn't I just go ahead and murder as much as I want now? THINK ABOUT THAT! (Also, this show is not supposed to be very good.)
9:00 CBS SCORPION
Season premiere! Nope.
10:00 CBS NCIS: LOS ANGELES
Season premiere! Nope.
10:00 ABC CASTLE
Season premiere! Nope.
10:00 NBC BLINDSPOT
Debut! FINALLY, a show that might be good! Check out this description: "A beautiful, naked amnesiac [MY FAVORITE KIND!—Steve] is found in Times Square covered in mysterious tattoos, including one bearing the name of FBI Agent Kurt Weller. Special Agent Weller and his FBI team must decode the map of clues on Jane Doe's body in order to thwart a deadly terrorist attack." Apparently this one has tons of awesome fight scenes, an intriguing plot, and the New York Times liked it... SO MAYBE WATCH THIS ONE!
