RIP Jonathan Frid (AKA VAMPIRE)

First Dick Clark, now another TV great—though much less well known—has passed on. Au revoir to actor Jonathan Frid, best known for his role in the long running horror soap Dark Shadows, who passed away "peacefully" at the ripe old age of 87. Frid played the show's sexiest, most popular character Barnabas Collins—the family vampire—and while the show itself was hilariously creepy, Frid brought a tremendous amount of depth and focus to his character. I chose the following scene from Dark Shadows, not so much because of Frid, but because it really demonstrates what worked about this campy gem. Jonathan Frid, you'll be missed!
